Computer Repair FAQ

Question 1

How much does computer repair cost?

Accepted Answer

All service calls include a $75 diagnostic fee, which is applied toward your repair if you choose to move forward with us. Final repair costs vary depending on the issue — we always give you a clear quote before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

Question 2

What is the diagnostic fee and is it refundable?

Accepted Answer

The $75 diagnostic fee covers our time to assess your computer and identify the problem. If you decide to proceed with the repair, that $75 is credited toward the total cost. If you choose not to repair, the diagnostic fee is non-refundable.

Question 3

Do you charge extra for in-home service?

Accepted Answer

No hidden travel fees. The $75 diagnostic fee covers the in-home visit. We come to you anywhere in our service area — Citrus County, Marion County, and surrounding communities.

Question 4

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, check, and all major credit and debit cards. You can also pay securely online at eztechome.com/pay. Payment is due upon completion of the service.

Question 5

What types of computers do you repair?

Accepted Answer

We specialize in Windows PCs — both laptops and desktops — from all major brands including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, Toshiba, and more. Please note we do not service Apple Mac computers.

Question 6

Can you remove viruses and malware from my computer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Virus and malware removal is one of our most common services. We thoroughly scan and clean your system, remove all threats, and help you set up protection to prevent future infections.

Question 7

My computer is running slow — can you fix that?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. A slow computer is usually caused by too many startup programs, a full hard drive, malware, or outdated hardware. Our tune-up service cleans up your system, removes junk files, and optimizes performance so it runs like new.

Question 8

Do you fix Wi-Fi and internet connection problems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues including dropped connections, slow speeds, devices that won't connect, and router configuration problems. We can also help set up a new router or extend your network coverage.

Question 9

Can you set up a new printer or fix one that stopped working?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We handle printer setup, driver installation, wireless printing configuration, and troubleshooting for printers that won't print, are offline, or have connectivity issues.

Question 10

Do you help with email setup and problems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We set up email accounts on your computer, configure Outlook and other email clients, and troubleshoot issues like emails not sending, not receiving, or account access problems.

Question 11

Can you transfer files from my old computer to a new one?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer data transfer services to move accessible files such as documents, photos, videos, and other personal data from your old computer to your new one. We verify the transferred data before completing the service. Files that are corrupted, damaged, or otherwise inaccessible may not be transferable.

Question 12

Can you install software or help me set up a new computer?

Question 16

Is my data safe during the repair?

Accepted Answer
